Receommended: New Takes on an Old Topic

Granted, I may be unduly obsessed with the Holocaust and Germany in general, but Timothy Snyder’s piece on new Nazi-era scholarship in The New York Review of Books would pique anyone’s interest (IMHO). Snyder himself also published an exceptionally well-reviewed book on the European battlefield of the Second World War last year, which I look forward to reading.

Also, fair warning: I’m deep into thesis research at the moment, and the next several books I read (and thus, write about on here) will have to do with either wartime, postwar or post-reunification Germany. Not that that should make anyone roll their eyes or anything.
